BENDIX LOADED CALIPER L55250M

OBSOLETED & SUPERSEDED

Beginning April 1, 1995, the L55250M will be obsolete and superseded by L55250LM and L55250RM. The "L"

and "R" preceding the "M" in the part number indicate Left and Right. The change from a universal to specific

left and right calipers is necessary because of a change in the disc pads used. One edge of the outer pad used in

MK225HD is now chamfered, creating a distinct right and left side outer pad. Because Bendix is the OE supplier

of these disc pads, and now uses OE grade friction in its medium duty loaded calipers, it is necessary to offer a

right and left side loaded caliper.

Ideally calipers with chamfered pads (L55250LM & L55250RM) should be used on both sides of an axle.

However, a caliper with a non-chamfered pad (L55250M) can be used with either a left or right caliper with a

chamfered pad. As your inventories of the L55250M become depleted, be sure to order both L55250LM and

L55250RM to ensure complete coverage.
